Year 3

Welcome to Year 3

Class Teachers – Mrs Farrington

Teaching assistant – Mrs Chapman

Welcome back to the new term and some better weather!  Our topic this term is Tremors, and will cover volcanoes, the destruction of Pompeii, earthquakes and rocks and soils, in addition to the usual English and Maths.

PE is on a Monday and Thursday this half term. Every child should have their own kit which can be left in school until the holidays.  Swimming has finished for the year and it has been wonderful to see everyone’s progress over the last 2 terms.

Spellings will continue to be given out every Friday.  Homework tasks should be handed in by the following Thursday.  Homework is not intended to be a stressful experience for either you or your child!  Times tables should also be practised at home; Year 3 are expected to know 2x, 3x,4x,5x,8x,10x tables.  Regular practise in short bursts is ideal, encouraging rapid recalls of facts.  Spellings and times tables will be tested each Friday.

Thank you for your amazing support with homework tasks.  The skills shown and variety of activities have impressed us all and the children have obviously had a great time completing them.

I am always available in the playground at the end of the day if anyone has anything they wish to discuss.

Thank you for your continued support.
