Welcome to Year 3
Class Teachers – Mrs Farrington
Teaching assistant – Mrs Chapman
Welcome back to the new term. It has been lovely seeing all the children back, looking very smart. They have already proved they are eager and willing to learn, and have already completed some super work. A fabulous start to KS2!
Swimming is on Wednesdays and children will need their swimming kits, including swimming hats for children with below collar length hair. Girls must have a one piece costume. No jewellery should be worn.
PE is on a Thursday this half term. Every child should have their own kit which can be left in school until the holidays.
Spellings and homework will be given out every Friday. Homework should be handed in by the following Thursday. Homework is nnot intended to be a stressful experience for either you or your child! If your child is finding the task difficult, please let me know.
Spellings will be tested each Friday. Please help your child by practising spellings at home regularly, ideally for 5-10 minutes each day.
Year 3 children are expected to know their 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 8x and 10x by the end of the year. Again, this is something which can be practised at home. We are currently working on our 3x table.
Our topic this term is Scrumdiddlyumptious! This involves looking at, tasting, drawing, investigating, reasearching and creating all kinds of foods and drinks. The class have made a great start on this and are thoroughly enjoying their activities!
Thank you for your support.
