Sports Premium

Funding for the Sports Premium is based on £8000 plus £5 per pupil (years 1-6) for a full academic year.

Academic Year 2016-17

For the academic year of 2016-17, the school is due to receive £8895 from the DfE to improve the quality of sport and PE at St Anne’s (assuming the funding continues on the same basis for the full academic year).  This is to be spent on:-

  • All Sports Coach for one day a week – lunch time and after school activities sessions funded through Sports Premium
  • City in the Community sports coaches in school for one day a week – before school, curriculum time, playtime and lunch time
  • Learning Enrichment Partnership with Denton Community College which includes 1 hour per week teaching as well as inter-school competitions and staff training
  • Tameside Schools Football Association membership 16-17
  • Professional Development training for staff from sports coaches
  • On-line Cybercoach
  • Transport to inter-school competitions
  • New sports equipment
  • Visitors to provide extra sports clubs requested by School Council – eg. Yoga/Fusion Dancing
  • Healthy eating cookery lessons and after school club

Academic Year 2015-16

For the academic year of 2015-16, the school received £8920 Sports Premium Funding.  We spent our money in a number of areas:-

  • All Sports Coach for one day a week – lunch time and after school activities sessions funded through Sports Premium
  • Denton Community College Coach for half a day a week – curriculum time and after school activities
  • Learning Enrichment Partnership with Denton Community College which includes a further 1 hour per week coaching as well as inter-school competitions and staff training
  • Professional Development training for staff from sports coaches
  • On-line Cybercoach
  • New sports equipment
  • City in the Community sports coaches in school
  • School Food Roadshow – healthy eating
  • Little Ninja workshops for Reception and Year 1
  • Healthy eating cookery lessons and after school club
